Forgotten Purrs
The time of ThunderClan, WindClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan and even the Tribe of the Rushing Water have long passed. The old heroes are just legends now, and the Ancient Clans, tales of LionClan, TigerClan and LeopardClan are scarcely remembered. Tales of Clans and Tribes spread from forest to forest, Twolegplace to Twolegplace, and although the rumors quickly spread, the warrior code, the purpose of Tribes and Clans remained the same. Thus, the first leaders came together: Magpiestar, Sunstar, Hollowstar and Mothstar. Although their beliefs and loyalties were divided, they each were strong and proud and knew their destinies: to rule the forest together, to respect one another, and to sacrifice everything for their friends. Now, those leaders, too, have passed, and it's your time to step up an aid in the rebirth of the forest.

If you are done reading and would like to get started on your character, the template can be found here.
This is the complete guide on how to create your character. I ask that you read all of it, or you may miss something. :)

Name
Your character's name can be almost anything as long as it follows the above rules and is spelled with English characters. This means no Japanese, Russian, Korean, etc. characters. Letters such as É, Ď, Œ, etc. are allowed as long as they are used for the actual pronunciation of the name and not just for decoration. If you want a Clan cat but do not have a Clan cat name, you must check with your Clan's leader to see if they will allow it.
There are differences between Clan names, rogue/loner names and kittypet names. Clan names consist of a suffix and prefix, but naming a Clan cat is more complicated and I suggest you take a look at this guide if you are unfamiliar with the naming system. Kittypets are house cats, so anything that you would name your own pet cat is probably acceptable as a kittypet name. The names of rogues and loners usually have something to do with nature, but if your character was raised near Twolegs, it is perfectly reasonable for them to be named after something around there.

Sex
Male, female, tom, and she-cat are acceptable. We are role-playing cats, not humans, so there are no transsexuals; your character may be gender-neutral as long as they have a birth-assigned sex.

Age
Please age your character in years, not moons. You are also free to use life stages when aging your character. The life stages are as follows:
  • Kitten - 6 months and under
  • Young Adult - 6 months-2 years
  • Adult - 3-8 years
  • Elder - 9-12 years

Appearance
You must describe your character's appearance in actual sentences. Pictures are not good substitutes for words. You may provide one on the side or use one as a reference, but you must also describe your character's appearance.

Personality
Your character cannot be perfect. They must have some notable flaws in their personality, even if there aren't many. You must describe your character's personality in complete sentences; do not just list their traits.

Clan and Rank
The Clans are StreamClan, DuskClan, LightningClan and BoulderClan. If you would prefer that your character not be in a Clan then just put "No Clan."
The normal ranks are kittypet, loner, rogue, kit, apprentice, warrior and elder. Notable character ranks are medicine cat, leader, deputy and medicine cat apprentice. Special ranks mean that there are a limited number of characters for each rank.

History
Your character's history must make sense. You are not allowed to have your character meet with another person's in their history unless you have that person's express permission. "Doesn't like to talk about it" is not acceptable as a history. Your character's history doesn't have to be long or detailed as long as there is something there.

Roleplay Sample
The roleplay sample is only needed for your first character. Once he/she is approved, you need not include it in any of your other character profiles. In it, just pretend that you are roleplaying as you would normally. The sample is only needed so that we know that you don't god mod/power play and speak in third person. We have few roleplaying rules here, but we need to make sure that you follow them.

Character Records
After your character is approved, you are not allowed to edit its template in any way. However, you are free to create one topic in the Character Records board. This board will allow you to keep track of your characters however you may want to.

Now that you are finished reading, you may create your character using the template found here. :)
